What does your pet need to enter the UK and Ireland ?

1.  Microchip - The animal(s) that is travelling must have a registered implanted microchip.
Your pet must first be fitted with a microchip to identify it. You can get your pet fitted with a microchip at any time but it must be done before it is vaccinated against rabies. Your vet should read the microchip number in your pet and record it on your pet's vaccination record at the time of vaccination.
2. Rabies vaccination - In order for your animal(s) to travel, it must have had at least one rabies vaccination after the microchip was implanted.
There is no exemption to this requirement, even if your pet has a current rabies vaccination. Rabies boosters must be kept up to date. The length of the waiting period before entry to the UK is 21 days after the first vaccination date. A waiting period is not required for subsequent entries into the UK, provided rabies boosters are kept up to date. If the vaccination is in two parts the 21 day wait will be from the date of the second vaccination.
3. Tapeworm Treatments - (dogs only): before entering the UK, all pet dogs (including assistance dogs) must be treated for tapeworm.
The treatment must be administered by a vet not less than 24 hours and not more than 120 hours (1-5 days) before its scheduled arrival time in the UK. There is no mandatory requirement for tick treatment. No treatment is required for dogs entering the UK from Finland, Ireland or Malta.
4.  Transport carriers - Your animal must have a suitable carrier to be transported in.
The legal requirements of the airline is that the animal must have a minimum of 10 cm  ( 4 inches) between the animal and the carrier. For example when your pet stands up-right in the normal position the gap from the top of their head to the top of the carrier must be at least 10 cm. The Carrier have to have a secure looking system like a spring look(NO TWIST LOCKS) There must also be enough room for the animal to be able to turn around inside.

If you do not have a carrier we could offer you certified pet carriers in all sizes at best prices.

All pets carried to the UK and Ireland have to be transported as cargo, not as excess baggage.
Passengers can be booked separately but also on the same flight.
